Question

Just a quick question; I was checking out what browsers you guys use, and I see the majority is Internet Explorer. Don't EVEN get my started on why you shouldn't be using that medieval torture device of a browser, but anyways, does the blog look okay? I have no idea, I use Opera, which is probably the lesser of two evils, between it and Firefox.

Enough techno-babble.

Work day

Another boring work day, but at least I remebered to bring my camera along! The only place to take a picture properly without being gawked at by people is on this little dock by the side of the river.

Anyways, to the outfit. Simple black dress pants, wide leg, cuffed at the bottom. Simple pointy toed black patent heels, very comfortable, my don't mess with me shoes. Not so simple turtle neck. It's actually really cool, it has cut-outs in the back and has a bunch of twisting and binding that reminds me of the SS10 Burberry Prorsum show. The twisting detail was fantastic. I have fallen pretty hard for the legging/pant things. I wonder if you could DIY it somehow? I saw a pretty sweet DIY of the skirts, very simply way to do it too, for the sewing impaired like me.

Anyways,

Seriously! Those pants kill me!

I didn't get a good picture of the back detail because well, there were bra issues, and I just can't be walking around without a bra can I? And it was black, so.. you know... I didn't look TOO awful, although I'm sure it's like a huge faux pas, but it's work so, no biggie?

You can see why

Thought I'd post a few comparisons between Aldo shoes and the luxary brands. Now, I know some people feel that it's wrong for companies like Aldo and Steve Madden to "knock-off" these shoe designs, but I have to say, not all of us have thousands of dollars to spend on luxary shoes. These companies produce a fine quality product at a reasonable price. It's not realistic to expect people to spend $1500 on a pair of studded sandals, and why should you, when you obviously couldn't anyways, when you can get a pair for $135? Givenchy and Alexander McQueen aren't losing any money, because the people who buy the knock-offs couldn't even afford the real thing. So in conclusion, I don't see what all the fuss is about. They're nice shoes, nice price. And most of them will be out of season next year anyways, so I feel better about spending $50 on them rather than $500.

Edit: I'd like to add as well, If I *did* have money to spend on designer shoes, I would, but obviously a $900 pair of YSL shoes is just way, WAY out of my price range. Would rather eat and have heat thanks.

19th birthday

So my 19th is fast approaching ( well not really... still have three months to go but...) and I've started looking for the prefect dress. A few options:

Then of course, the major dilemma, what shoes!?!? I feel like I've been collecting them for ages, just for this moment!

Gilding the lily

So, I went Christmas shopping this afternoon, and fully intented to buy only for others, but how could I resist these beautiful rings at Forever 21? And the price, I must say, was amazing!

Love them seperate, love them together!

DvF coat!

As promised, here are some more detailed shots of the coat. When I saw it, as well as this navy dress, I instantly wanted to put them together to re-create this classic Carrie Bradshaw look:

I love this outfit so much! If I haven't told you, and you haven't figured it out, I LOVE velvet. It's my favorite fabric. So imagine my delight when I found a velvet dress in my favorite colour (navy) to go with my coat!
